Waldir Azevedo

1923 - 1980

Azevedo is considered one of the main references in the history of choro. He started his artistic career in radio programs. In 1949, already leading the group Regional of Dilermando Reis, he composed one of the greatest classics of MPB, Brasileirinho, which received lyrics by Pereira Costa. He left more than 200 instrumental recordings and about 70 compositions. Birth: Brasil Rio de Janeiro RJ, 27/1/1923
